About the Patrick Sweet

Patrick Sweet, M.D. is a native of southern California and hails from Camarillo. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), specializing in endoscopies & colonoscopies. Dr. Sweet has had additional graduate training in fields complementary to
family medicine. He had four years total residency training in Emergency Medicine and Pathology prior to completing his residency in Family Medicine. Dr. Sweet has a passion for education, research and procedures and has distinguished himself as Advanced Procedures Chief at UC San Diego as well as the recipient of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) Resident Teacher Award. He has written several articles in medical journals as well as book chapters in medical texts. Dr. Sweet is a veteran and served as a medical officer in the active and now reserve components of the US Navy. His military accomplishments include being a plank owner on the USS MAKIN ISLAND (LHD-8), shellback, and now medical officer to reserve Sea, Air and Land (SEAL) Team SEVENTEEN. He also holds an appointment as a medical manager to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and California Task Force Eight (CATF-8) as direct supervisor to Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) medics in the event of a large-scale disaster. When not at work, he enjoys time with his wife and two sons enjoying all that our great country has to offer.
